The Whaling Capital
A Limited Edition of 195. Image = 19″ x 13″
Signed, titled, numbered with a Certificate of Authenticity.
This old map of Massachusetts from 1898 shows both Nantucket and New Bedford which formed the whaling capital of the world. There I’ve overlayed a reproduction of my painting “The Whalers.” Northeast of Boston on Bradley Wharf in Rockport sits “the most often painted building in America.” Built in 1840, the red fishing shack is also referred to as “Motif Number 1”. There I’ve also added a copy of my painting “Rockport, Mass.”
