This is a view of tall ships at Dana Point in 2008. It has nearly all the compositional elements that I most enjoy in marine paintings ……..old wooden ships, strong contrast, deep shadows against white hulls, well-defined reflections, the American flag, and something that makes the viewer imagine a seasoned history at sea.
