Pisgah National Forest, in the Appalachian mountains of western North Carolina, is home to creeks, rivers, and waterfalls under an umbrella of deciduous trees. In the autumn, it’s like a walk in heaven. Crabtree is a spectacular 70-foot falls on Crabtree Creek, 45 miles north of Asheville, North Carolina. Access to Crabtree Falls requires a 3-mile strenuous round trip hike from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
