Original Watercolor, 15″ x 22″

This is a scene from September of 1936 at the wharf in Rock Point, Maryland in Charles County. The buyboat would purchase oysters directly from sailing work boats on the Chesapeake called skipjacks. This saved the oyster fleet a long sail to market. I chose the classic lines of the buyboat as the logo for my company, Watermen Art, Inc.
