The inspiration for this painting comes from multiple trips and hundreds of reference photographs taken in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area just a few miles east of Portland, Oregon. Along the Columbia River Highway are dozens of streams and waterfalls including Latourell Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Wahkeena Falls, Multnomah Falls, and Horsetail Falls … all within a short walk through the adjacent woods.
